The Boeing 787 Dreamliner plane from Japan Airlines will be reviewed today by the Federal Aviation Administration to determine the state of the plane’s design and critical systems. The Dreamliner caught fire earlier this week after landing in Boston’s Logan Airport among other problems.
“This is a newer type of a battery that hasn’t been, basically, looked at in any terms of faults,” said Kevin Hiatt, president and CEO of the Flight Safety Foundation. “It’s a very good battery, and we’re not sure what happened there.”
